KELOWNA HIGH PERFORMANCE
– Building Better Athletes –
25+ Years of Training Experience
With over 25 years of combined experience training hockey players at the amateur, European Professional, AHL, and NHL levels, Mark and Travis share a unique philosophy around athletic training – it’s not always how hard you train, but how smart you train. With a focus on form and technique to improve speed and performance, they prioritize ground-based exercises, explosive and multiple joint movements, and periodization to maximize strength development while minimizing the risk of injury.
Mark is the director of Health and Performance for the Canadian Hockey League, Lead Training Advisor for Under Armour Canada, in addition to various other roles in the field of sports performance. His most recent position in the NHL was with the Anaheim Ducks where he spent four years as their head Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Travis spent 9 seasons playing professional hockey in the SPHL and European Professional League. Each off-season he would spend it training and mentoring young hockey players in the Okanagan. Travis has worked with players one-on-one and in group sessions at various development camps (Edge of Excellence, SD23 Hockey Canada Skills Academy, and Sicamous Hockey School). Travis is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
With their unique backgrounds and extensive experience, Mark and Travis have joined forces to develop personalized training plans for each of their athletes, customized to their specific needs, goals, and skill level.
Kelowna High Performance Athletes
My first off-season with Mark and Travis was extremely beneficial for me. I’ve had issues with low back pain in previous years and working with Kelowna High Performance has helped eliminate these issues. They tailored the program to my individual needs and provided exactly what I needed to improve. Not only did they help with my low back pain, but they also helped me increase my speed and quickness on the ice.
Before working with Mark & Travis I constantly had a bunch of minor injuries that never seemed to go away and no other trainer I have had was able to figure out. With Travis and Mark’s knowledge, we were able to find out what it was and completely eliminate the pain. The strength and power in my legs after training with Kelowna High Performance is something I’ve never had before and I highly their program.
Working with Mark & Travis for my off-season training has been extremely beneficial for my career. Their professional approach & how they tailor the program to your personal needs are second to none. Their focus on speed development & injury prevention is crucial for today’s game in the NHL. I’ve noticed quite the transformation in how much more explosive & efficient I feel on the ice without dealing with any nagging hip/groin issues.
